Touring plans 2010-2012

We have just launched a new version of the Orchestra, which will be the mainstay of our programme for the next three years, underpinning a variety of other projects. Some of these may be smaller in scale, concentrating perhaps on a particular region of the world, and/or featuring specific musicians.

One example of these smaller groups is the Grand Union Bangla Band, a very popular and unusual attraction at Melas across the UK; but there are many other favourite combinations.

All shows listed on the events page, and most of those on the history page, are also readily available.

However, Grand Union delights in responding to commissions and tailoring shows to order. Any of our existing shows can be adapted to local demands, or serve as models for new productions.

Just call us to discuss possibilities and negotiate prices.

Education and Learning plans 2010-2011

We run a wide range of outreach programmes linked to the work of the Orchestra. Some past projects are detailed on the history page.

During 2010-2011 these are being unified under the umbrella title From Silk Road to Carnival, and we are running a series of workshops, master-classes and performances exploring this theme.

Details will be published from time to time, but some of these projects also involve the Grand Union Youth Orchestra of East London, and information may be found on its own website.

Grand Union is always happy to discuss devising and tailoring education and participatory projects specially for local needs and demands.
